About the World Social Forum

The World Social Forum is a not-for-profit association which helps other world forums (unions, associations, non‑governmental organizations ‑ NGOs) throughout the world by providing  research,  practical orientation and strategies for helping resolve the social crises. Indeed, mass debates, working sessions and demonstrations alone are not enough to create a platform for mutual understanding between governments and NGOs. The WSF acts rationally with aim‑oriented and practical approaches to the struggle against poverty, ignorance, and unemployment.  The WSF offers new practical approaches, publications, legal measures, and directives for the effective use of the WSF proposals and projects, studies, and materials for analyzing and humanizing the negative impacts of globalization and creating a better market economy and an improved democratic political system.

The WSF bases its activities on conventions, recommendations and approaches of the ILO for human basic life needs for every human being.

Through practical actions (conferences, seminars, publications, and TV programs), the WSF plans to awaken and motivate two-thirds of society to develop a more active civil society, without political or ethnic tensions, with only one objective : to ensure happiness for each family and human being in the world.
